The independent consumer protection scheme
The community heating industry doesn’t have the same regulation as other utilities like gas and electricity. So the Heat Trust was set up in collaboration with industry, consumer groups and government. It’s a voluntary industry initiative which sets out a common standard of quality and protection for the supply of heat.
We’re working closely with the scheme to share best practice and experience. We want to help drive the industry forward to transform the image of community heating, establishing it as the best way to supply reliable, environmentally friendly heating.
By joining our networks to the scheme, we’re demonstrating our commitment to providing our customers with this level of quality and protection. This common standard has been designed to give you, the customer, the same peace of mind as you would expect from other utilities.
